The N.Y. Short Buzz
A screening series of award-winning short films directed by filmmakers from around the world. We hope to engage and inspire diverse communities in the Big Apple by showing short films in parks, community youth centers, and college campuses. By bringing the short films of established and emerging artists to areas of the city that aren’t normally exposed to them, we aspire to galvanize our audiences into telling and sharing their own personal and gripping stories. Another goal we strive toward is to nurture a vivacious New York independent filmmaking community not only by exhibiting the work of these filmmakers, but also by providing opportunities for filmmakers to meet and connect with their audience. HollyHood Productions, through The N.Y. Short Buzz, supports the art of indie filmmaking and the artists who make New York City, the capital of the world.
To date all of the screenings with a filmmaker "Q&A's," happened at the legendary Nuyorican Poet's Cafe
In celebration of The Orphaned Starfish Foundation, which creates lasting change in the lives of orphans throughout Latin America by helping them develop vocational skills. All proceeds from this night's event go directly to services, facilities, and equipment that will educate and train children.(click the photo).

UPCOMING FILMS
HollyHood begins production on their 2nd feature film on 7/29/22 through 8/22/22. “BORN A STRAY” is a supernatural coming-of-age thriller that follows Agrimas Cuevas, a recently orphaned sixteen-year-old foster child, who goes on a quest to find his real parents and uncovers dark secrets that lead him to the dangerous truth: he’s half-human and half-vampire.
UPCOMING SCRIPTS
What will HollyHood's next project be, you might wonder. Well, its a good thing those boys from the Bronx are ready with four features and a TV pilot to chose from.
